News: Updated: Galaxy S III Pictures and Specs Leaked
UPDATE: Well folks, Samsung has come out and said that these are not official designs and a fan-made mockup. As far as specs, they could still be correct.
“The mock-ups, published in the article on Concept-Phones.com, were posted in the “Imagined Phones” section of “Samsung Phones Owners’ Club” group on VKontakte.ru. This section contains unofficial artworks and designs, created by group members, and are products of pure imagination, sometime even a joke”
Even though Samsung’s Galaxy S II was just released a few months ago in the U.S, the Galaxy S III appears to be in production. ConceptPhones received a tip from a Russian reader who said the device showed up on Samsung’s official page on a Russian social network known as Vkontakte. Sounds a bit sketchy though, right?
Anyway, reported specs of the device are a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 1.5GHz processor, TouchWiz 5.0, ICS, a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, a 9mm thick body, a 12MP camera featuring both an LED flash and a Xenon flash, along with a 2 MP front facing camera for video chatting. Supposedly, it will be sold in 32GB and 64GB variants and will feature 4G LTE.
Here is where it gets weird, the tipper also mentioned that the device will run a dual-boot of Android 4.0 and Samsung’s BadaOS.
However, these pictures look spot on to me.
Maybe Samsung will give us something at CES this year, but I wouldn’t get too excited yet.
