Archos, who has been making tablets powered by Android for a while now, is jumping into kids tablets. They’ll be releasing the ChildPad, a 7″ tablet with a Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 theme. Kids will love it just for that but for as who look at specs, it comes packing 1GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB of storage and is WiFi only. Best part? It’s running Ice Cream Sandwich.

Archos is pre-loading the tablet with kid-friendly games and apps like Angry Birds and other educational apps. You can download other apps using the AppsLib market. (No Play Store?) It comes loaded with Chipmunk related content as well as parental control apps for parents.

You can pick one up for your kids, or if you’re a kid at heart, from Archos directly for $129.99. Should be available at other retailers soon.
