Hands On With The Google+ Tablet Update
At Google I/O yesterday, Google announced an updated version of its social networking service Google+. With the upgrade comes, wait for it……, an updated tablet version of the service. I know, I know. The service has been here for a little over a year and they JUST got around to a tablet version. But hey, better late than never eh?
The update completely overhauls the UI of the application. Everything swipes from left to right and comes with a much cleaner navigation tool. The overall experience is just amazing, and makes the service much more usable for mobile devices. They’ve also added the “events” feature which works like Facebook Calendars. It allows you to invite people to participate in an event and it syncs with their Google calendars. Now you can arrange your Google+ Hangout with all the cool kids or schedule in that book club meeting. Me, I’ll set up my Monster Hunter LAN parties this way (nerrrrrrd), or setup LSAT practice groups (meh).
The update is live for Android, but as of the writing of this post and recording of the video, it isn’t available for iOS devices yet; although it IS coming out at some point for you guys (you guys should be used to getting things after Android devices anyway right?).
