Just under an hour ago, we reported that the Desire HD’s Ice Cream Sandwich had been cancelled, at least that’s what Telus thought. HTC has now confirmed to Android Central that the device, along with the Desire S, is still on track to get Android 4.0.

The HTC spokesperson told Android Central:

“We remain committed to providing customers with the latest software updates when possible. As such, we are pleased to confirm we are still on schedule to deliver an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for both the HTC Desire HD and Desire S.”

Phew, that was a close one, Desire HD owners. Glad that’s cleared up. There’s still no time frame, but we will be sure to let you know when there is.
