So LG decided it wanted to make more then phones. Now its announced a “phablet” and umm yeah, its not pretty. The LG Optimus Vu will be coming with a 5-inch 1024×768 HD IPS display. It’s ugly! You’ll need two hands to reach buttons on it and it uses capacitive buttons. What year are we in?

The only good thing about this device, and I use the word good loosely, is that it comes with Android 4.0.4. Will it be seeing 4.1 soon after release? Who knows, this is LG remember? As far as the other specs go:

  • a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 with Adreno 220 GPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32GB storage
  • 8MP/1.3MP cameras

Those specs aren’t set in stone but really? Why is this even an option? Why is Verizon Wireless going to sell this? Why is LG going to even make a mini-CRT monitor? Why do iPhone users think emoji is so great? These questions will probably never be answered. All I know is that it reminds me of the Dell Streak, and look at how that ended. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.
