News: XBMC running on Andy, brings it.

Android is not just slowly becoming a powerhouse for gaming, it’s now starting to move towards streaming media – I don’t mean just your phone’s DLNA either. With what must be one of the weirdest paths from start to present, XBMC is hitting android.
XBMC, for those not aware, started off as a solution for modified XBOX systems. It’s grown from there into a solution fully functional in windows, then to a loadable architecture, and after a few more hops, android.
There will eventually be a Play Store release but that’s a bit away. There’s a lot to do there so it’ll work on various phones and skins. More details are available on the XBMC page in regards to all the items they’ll have to tackle to bring it to current phones.
This is largely a funded effort by the company Pivos Technology Group, and while we’ll benefit, they’ll benefit by having a sub-$150 device as well, and that’s already listed on Amazon. Personally, this will make my gift list.
