Verizon has announced that it will begin selling Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet. The device will be rocking Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz on top, a 7-inch 1024×600 display, 1GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and LTE connectivity. It will be available from Verizon this Friday, August 17th, for $349.99. The Galaxy Tab 2 is compatible with Verizon’s “Share Everything” plans, which start at $40 a month for 4GB of data.

In the era of $200 Tegra 3 tablets, i.e the Nexus 7, it does seem a bit crazy that Samsung and Verizon are asking so much more for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Maybe consumers are willing to shell out an $150 for LTE. We’ll just have to wait and see.
