Following its $1.05 billion victory last week, Apple released its initial list of Samsung phones that infringed on its patents this week. Most of those devices are not easily available today, so not many people worried. Yesterday, however, Apple added four new devices to that list that are actively being sold. Those devices are the Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note 10.1, the International/Unlocked Galaxy S III, and the Verizon Galaxy S III.

Apple says that these devices infringe on the following patents:

’647 (Data detector)

’721 (Slide-to-unlock)

172 (Word completion)

’604 (Universal search)

Now, just because Apple added these devices to its patent suit, doesn’t mean they will get banned. Samsung could roll out a workaround and then be in the clear again. We’ll just have to see.

According to our good friends over at Android Central, it looks like Samsung is poised to roll out their Jelly Bean update to the International version of the Galaxy S3 next week. The update is supposed to be launched next week after the manufacturer’s unpacked event in Berlin. Sources close to Samsung have said that the update is in the finally stages of testing. According to the latest update schedule, the Jelly Bean update is due to roll out shortly after Samsung’s Unpacked event which occurs on August 29th, by the way that’s where we are supposed to see the new Galaxy Note. The update is due to roll out initially to a few countries including the UK, so our British friends can enjoy some Jelly Bean love.

On to the US and Canada and the LTE versions of the Galaxy S3, we have no word as to how soon after the International rollout of Jelly Bean that we will get official Jelly Bean on our Galaxy S3′s. Now if Jelly Bean really does rollout next week, this will be a great change in updates from manufacturers. Usually it’s months before we get updates to the next version of Android, not less than two months.

Now if other manufacturers like HTC, and Motorola could release updates this quickly. We still have a number of devices waiting on Ice Cream Sandwich. Any International Galaxy S3 owners out there? Who’s excited to get some Jelly Bean love? Oh and those expanded notifications we saw at Google I/O in June, yeah those are awesome.

Samsung continues its flood of updates today with the international Galaxy Note. The GT-N7000 is receiving a bump from Android 4.0.3 to Android 4.0.4. This will bring the device to build number IMM76D. While that may not seem like that big of a change, Samsung has included a few enhancements. First is the Pop-up Play feature currently found only on the Galaxy S III. This allows a video throughout the O.S. on top of existing apps. This feature has now been ported to the Galaxy Note and will definitely be useful with a 5.3-inch display. The update also adds “signature unlock,” which allows you to unlock your device by signing your name, as opposed to a pin or pattern. Aside from those features, Android 4.0.4 is full of bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The update is rolling out to German Galaxy Note devices right now and other territories should be updated in the coming weeks. It will be available over-the-air or through Samsung’s Kies software. Hit us up in the comments if you’ve received the update!
