So unless you have been living under a rock, you know the current state of RIM. They’re, umm, losing and badly. What’s the newest device they have? A remake of the Bold? The devices are so bad apparently that even Thorsten Heins, current CEO of RIM, uses an Android device on a daily basis. Yeah, you read that correctly.

Al Sacco from CIO spent some time with the CEO and asked him a few questions. Like what were his device preferences. Here’s some of that:

I know you’ve been with RIM for a number of years, so I’m guessing you’ve been using a BlackBerry for some time. Have you ever used another smartphone from a RIM rival?

Yes, I absolutely do [use a BlackBerry], however, just to stay educated about the market, I always have a second device that is a competitor device so I know where I am, in terms of the competition.

What other device or other devices do you use?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S III right now.

No iPhone? You’re only using an Android device?

I did iPhone already. I really go across the board, so I had an iPhone before because it was important for me to understand touch devices at the entry level. I had the Samsung Mini for a while. I change them on a pretty regular basis.

So what do you guys think? Does he use the Samsung Galaxy SIII, daily, just so he can see what the competition is? Does he notice how bad Blackberry is and how amazing Android is? Let us know in the comments.

Great news for anyone who owns the Samsung Galaxy SIII outside of the United States, you’ll be getting somewhat of an awesome update. No, it’s not Jelly Bean awesome sorry.

The update brings a few changes as well as fixes. You get slideable brightness controls, extra power menu toggles, more audio options and fixes for AccuWeather. It’s only for the international SGSIII at this time but with those kind of fixes, won’t be long before we see it here in the States as well.

The update is 72MB and build number is 19300XXLFB. Let us know if you get the update and if it includes any other noticeable changes with it.

If you’ve been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon Wireless, get ready to wait an extra day. Verizon updated their website and the new ship date is now July 10th. Previously it was on the 9th. Yeah, it’s only one extra day BUT it’s an extra day added to the already long wait compared to ship dates from T-Mobile and Sprint who have it set for June 21st.

Still no word on Verizon as to why they delayed it an extra day. Is the Droid Incredible 4G LTE actually showing up and that’s why? Are they delaying the Share Everything plans, set for June 28th, as well? No idea but hopefully we hear something from them soon. They’ve had a tendency of screwing up device launches so hopefully it doesn’t happen with the SGSIII. I guess it’s back to the waiting game for Big Red customers. In the meantime, I will be getting my SGSIII on June 21st from Magenta. How do you guys feel about waiting so long for it compared to other carriers? Have any guesses as to why? Let us know in the comment.

Wish the sale would have came after the Samsung Galaxy S III launch but with the HTC One S most likely on that sale, it’s a great time to pick one up.
